Otium accepts prose of all forms for publication: short stories and memoirs, plays and screenplays, fiction and nonfiction. Otium does not have any requirements on the length of submissions.
Otium also accepts digital art submissions, from photographs and sketches to graphic art. We seek to take advantage of the collaborative capabilities of our online format by publishing both images and text in a way that encourages artistic partnership.

Please submit your prose works in any of HTML, plain text, rich text, PDF or Microsoft Word formats. Please submit your art in a common graphics format, including JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP or PSD files. If your art is in another format, please contact us to make arrangements.
Please include your name, geographic location, and University of Chicago affiliation, if applicable, in the body of your email.
Additionally, if you are interested in becoming an editorial staff member of Otium, please contact the board. The editorial collective is still looking for editors with discerning eyes, impeccable literary tastes, open minds, and strong desires to create something new and different. Technical staff members are also needed to aid with the administration of Otium's website.
